Splendid Dehler 32 Competition. The ultimate 32-foot crossover—race on Wednesday, cruise offshore on Friday.
Dehler 32 Competition – The ultimate 32-foot crossover – race on Wednesday, cruise offshore on Friday.
Performance when you want it. Comfort when you need it.
Few sailing yachts can fulfill so many different roles as convincingly as this Dehler 32 Competition. In this size class, there’s really nothing else quite like it.
A Wednesday evening race with friends? A solo afternoon out on the water? An intense weekend of competitive sailing? Or a few weeks cruising along the Dutch, Belgian, or English coast with the family? This Dehler 32 Competition is right at home in all these roles.
And that’s exactly what makes her special. With a length of just 9.80 meters, she’s easy to navigate, simple to handle, and relatively affordable in terms of mooring and maintenance. At the same time, this is a fully seaworthy sailing yacht with excellent sailing characteristics, two cabins, heating, hot water, a fully equipped galley, and modern navigation equipment.
A true performance cruiser in the original sense of the word.
DEHLER DNA
Dehler has built its reputation on yachts that combine speed with practical ease of use. The 32 Competition is perhaps one of the purest examples of this.
With its relatively light displacement of approximately 4,220 kg, a ballast of 1,390 kg, and a draft of 1.98 meters, it’s immediately clear that excellent sailing performance played a key role in the design.
She is lively and responsive at the helm, yet remains predictable and controllable. A boat that rewards an experienced sailor, without requiring a full racing crew every time to have fun.
That makes her just as suitable for the avid racing sailor as for the sailor who regularly sets out alone or with a small crew.
COMPETITION – AND THAT’S MORE THAN JUST A NAME
It’s no coincidence that this version bears the “Competition” designation. The Seldén aluminum mast and boom, Dyform rigging, Dyneema backstay, Harken deck hardware, and a high-quality North Sails 3Di sail set give this Dehler the equipment that matches her sporty character.
The sail set is also exceptionally up-to-date:
- North Sails 3Di Ocean 330 mainsail – 2023
- North Sails 3Di Ocean 330 jib 105% – 2024
- Second North Sails 3Di Ocean 330 jib – October 2026, unused
- Elvström gennaker – barely used
In April 2025, the Dyform standing rigging, the Dyneema backstay, the Seldén Furlex 200TD furling jib system, and the running rigging were also replaced.
The result is a 32-footer that isn’t just sporty on paper, but is actually ready for serious sailing.
MODERN ELECTRONICS
The boat has also been significantly modernized in recent years in terms of navigation and instrumentation. Onboard equipment includes a Raymarine Axiom 9+ chartplotter, two modern 7-inch Alpha Performance displays, an RNS5 RayNet network switch, and an EVO200 Sail autopilot with P70S, etc. (2024/2026).
This is therefore not a 2011 yacht that has been sailed exclusively for years; on the contrary, visible and demonstrable investments have been made to keep her up to date technically and in terms of equipment.
FROM THE RACE COURSE TO VACATION
Perhaps this is the strongest argument in favor of this Dehler. After the Wednesday evening race, all you have to do is load your bags on board and set course for your next destination. Below deck, you’ll find a surprisingly complete interior for a sporty 32-footer, featuring separate forward and aft cabins, a galley with a refrigerator and a two-burner gas stove with oven, hot water, and an Eberspächer 4 kW heater.
The forward cabin is equipped with a Comfortis mattress with a slatted base, and a Flexima mattress was installed in the aft cabin in July 2025.
With 100 liters of water and 110 liters of fuel, it’s not just meant for an afternoon on the lake. This is a boat you can actually travel with. The Netherlands, Zeeland, the IJsselmeer, the Wadden Sea, Belgium, England, or beyond: the Dehler 32 Competition is compact enough for spontaneous use and capable enough for serious coastal and offshore sailing.
EXCEPTIONALLY WELL-MAINTAINED
This Dehler has been owned by its second owner since 2022 and has received professional maintenance every year. Every winter, the boat was stored ashore.
The investments made in recent years speak for themselves. In addition to the rigging, sails, and electronics, numerous other components have also been replaced. For example, the Victron service batteries date from 2023, the LED interior lighting from 2024, and the navigation lights from 2025. In 2026, Insails delivered a completely new set of canvas covers in Sunbrella Faroe, consisting of a sprayhood, sail cover, furling jib cover, and steering wheel cover.
The gas system was also inspected in April 2026 in accordance with HISWA guidelines, and the four-person Jacobs Combi Safeguard life raft has been certified until March 2029. Furthermore, the Volvo Penta D1-20 diesel engine has only about 630 operating hours.
WHAT CAN YOU BUY TODAY FOR THIS PRICE?
That might be the most interesting question. If you were to look today for a new performance cruiser between approximately 30 and 34 feet and equip it with high-quality sails, modern Raymarine electronics, autopilot, heating, hot water, good mattresses, and the other equipment found on this Dehler, will end up with a total cost that’s in a completely different league.
And even then, it’s questionable whether you’d find the same combination.
- Compact and seaworthy.
- Sporty and comfortable.
- Suitable for solo sailing and family use.
- Fast enough for the race course and practical enough for a vacation.
This Dehler 32 Competition offers all these features for a fraction of the investment required these days for a comparable new 30- to 34-footer. For the sailor who doesn’t want to choose between racing and cruising, but simply wants to be able to do it all with one boat, this is a particularly interesting opportunity.
